Triple negative breast cancer

I have Triple negative breast cancer for the 2nd time around. I am about to finish my 2nd course of chemo and my oncologist  is suggesting maintenance chemo for the rest of my life.

One option is a twice daily tablet called Zolodin.

Is anyone taking this drug ?

How do you find it ?

  • Zoladex is given as an injection , once a mth. It stops your ovaries from working. I have the injection every mth. I have decided to have a hysterectomy instead of the injections.but I am 53.  To buy at the chemist each mth is $336.00 and then I take it to my GP. I am on a health card I only have to pay $5.60 for the Zoladex. I really do not know how I could afford it if I wasn't on a health card , as I am on Tamoxifen and the out of pocket Drs bills, add up.

  • Hi Ziggy

I'm wondering if it is Zoladex that your medical oncologist has suggested, not Zolodin? Although I think this is normally an injection, not tablets.

  • Hi Ziggy

sorry you have had to endure chemo again!!!

Zolodin is usually used as an anti depressant, but I could be wrong!!

I have taken Zolodin for depression after my treatment, but only took it short term.

    Sorry I wasnt more helpful.
