Two sides of nature on one day
Hello all
The two sides of nature .....
Side One: Well, here we are, a 41 degree day with strong northerly winds and extreme fire danger. We are packed and ready to evacuate at a moment's notice.
Side Two: Hubby just came in to tell me that the Willy Wagtail babies have been born !
Isn't nature crazy ?
Pray for these babies to survive - our second set of the season.
Hope others are keeping safe if there is fire danger near you. Hope the heat is not too bad - me, I am dripping sweat and tired after minimal sleep last night. 25 overnight tonight - roll on winter, I say !
I will keep you all posted with the baby news and will maybe get a photo again.
Summer :-)

Hi yes it has hit 41 here at home. Blustery hot day.
Hope the baby wag tails survive.
We lost 3 baby swallows overnight due to the heat.
Roll on Monday when it is only going to be 21.
Take care
Christine

Hi Christine
We are in for 25 overnight and 35 tomorrow - as I say, roll on winter !
Apart from the BC, "life is a shit and then you die" !
Sorry about the negativity but today is not one of my best ! At the minute death is looking better, less struggles.
From this, one who has been trying to be positive for others. Sorry.
If your name is from those darling wonderfully-coloured chooks - wheeeee !

Yes my post name is my favourite chooks.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
An Uncle of ours was in the line of fires today. He saved the house but lost the sheds.
Roll on the cooler weather.
I was told by the Counsellor on the day of diagnosis when you get anxious pat yourself on the legs and say yes it's me I'm still here and then pat your backside. Whilst you're doing this it brings you into now and you and takes away the edge of anxiety.
Please take care
Christine xx

Hi Robyn
A wedding - how wonderful. Such good news for you and to really like her husband is good, too.
Sorry, the heat and early rise and just everything banked up on me. Sooo tired.
The TWO Willy Wagtail babies survived the day and night so hope they manage today as well. We put a bowl of water in the area (we had to fence that tree off so the Labrador cannot get to the nest) and pop bits of food in there as well. They have their heads up high. So cute.
We hit 42 yesterday and then about 27 overnight. 36 today. Over summer - roll on winter.
Have a lovely week and great festive season.
Big hugs
Summer :-)

Hi Rowdy
Thank you for the hug, that has cheered me.
42 yesterday and 38 today so it feels a lot better.
Yes, sometimes the 'bad' days are a bit too much, aren't they ?
Have a happy and safe festive season.
Summer :-)

Hi Christine
Thank you for the positive thought ! Will try it.
I often looked at your name and wondered if you had chooks. We recently bought two iser browns as a gift to a friend, they are so beautiful.
I am sad to hear about your uncle. I am glad, though, that he is OK.
We are now not going to 'stay and defend' - we will roll if at all possible. Having said that, we are well-prepared if we are caught and have to stay. We are armed with the knowledge (CFA sessions) and the equipment - buckets of water reside in each room all summer !
Thank you again.
Wishing you a happy and safe festive season.
Summer :-)

Yes my christian name is too popular and struggled to register with Christine
Glad to hear you're in a better head space today. Take time to rest and heal.
