Free webinar (Zoom) on 22 October, 7pm - 8.30pm EST about returning to work after cancer/treatment (will also touch on lymphoedema).

Diagnosed in 2012. Mastectomy (left breast), chemotherapy (A/C and Taxol) and herceptin. Ten years of Femara (Letrozole) completed in April 2023, hooray! Long term side effects include an arrythmia (possibly accumulated impact, perfectly manageable), peripheral neuropathy (Taxol definitely, still have funny feet) and lymphoedema (17 lymph nodes went and manageable also). Worked full time throughout treatment, moved to a new job a year later (4 day week). At 74, started one year of long service leave, interrupted half way by COVID. Decided to retire, avoiding WFH and Zoom meetings! One partner, one daughter, two grandsons.

    Hello Locksley et al
    I have emailed and just decided now to ring someone just now at the Cancer Research Network at Sydney University. Needless to say they have been very busy. It was good to speak to someone though who was very helpful. I have just emailed her personally so she can follow-up. She said she will follow up with her co-workers who organised the webcast. I have provided BCNA's general email and phone number if needed to place it on the network site. She will get back to me with an answer next week. I hope this helps as I had been following up too. Have a lovely week-end

    Thanks Tasia...hope you get through it...I took it a day at a time and rested when I could...good luck with the rest of your treatment. You will get through it .... I have been waiting for a response from the organisers after sending an email...I will follow-up again tomorrow....Warm wishes:)

    @patdug and @Dory65 - If the recording is made available, I would very much be interested in accessing it also. I have continued to work throughout the AC cycles - much leaner work and only after I was able to identify my best and most functional days - I had to learn to manage chemo brain. Now waiting to see what Taxol will dish out. Many thanks :-)

    Thanks Dory 65 - I have emailed Nicola and asked that the recording be made available - as described in her email you posted - which I received too, so that will be good :) ...thanks for following up..  :)

    Hello again everyone
    I have just found an email address (general enquiries one so it may take a couple of days to be sent on to the relevant area - DIRECT-SIG) and requested a recording of the the helpful event on returning to work during/post treatment. If it  is successful I will upload it to this network...
