Mez_BCNA Is there any official data on any 'other' Stage 4 cancer numbers in Australia? Or is it currently 'just' Breast Cancer that is now being 'counted'?
arpie there isn't official data on any other stage 4 cancer numbers. We hope this work in the breast cancer space can be a national and international blueprint that enable other cancers to be counted as well.
Thanks Mez_BCNA .... That is absolutely astonishing! How on earth can the various Gov/Health Depts possibly plan for future costings of Specialists, hospital beds, amounts of specialised drugs and all other associated costs - if they don't even know current numbers of all those with Mets, let alone where they are. Grrrr
All they have to do is get all Pathology Depts to send a monthly listing of Newly Diagnosed Stage 4 patients to a central database - that will show where & how many there are .... to enable efficient & proper costings.
