Little known sign of metastases
I was diagnosed with metastases in 2020, and I recently experienced a strange symptom, which I thought I'd mention here, as it's something that could be a red flag for anyone who is being monitored for recurrence of cancer. I recently started experiencing numbness down one side of my face, chin, lips and tongue. I'm told that this may be due to a trapped nerve, or nerve damage caused by cancer in my scalp or base of the skull. Apparently, sometimes it is the first sign of breast cancer, or of breast cancer that has metastasized, but I had never heard of it before. Anyone who is interested can Google "numb chin syndrome." I'm off to get an MRI of my head this afternoon, to discover exactly what is going on.Strange symptoms after mastectomy
OK I know this is a real thing because I searched it and found it described in a thread overseas. Ever since my mastectomy, I have had a very strange feeling every time I have a drink. Hot or cold it doesn't matter. Sometimes it's enough to take my breath away. Sometimes mild, sometimes almost painful. Nothing really to complain about but the strangest feeling! It sort of feels like a sudden rushing waterfall of ice water behind my ribs that washes down my chest on the side of the mastectomy. Has anyone else had anything similar?271Views0likes16CommentsQuery
I had DCIS last September, it was removed, but no lymph glands removed. No radiation treatment was said to be needed as it was caught early. I now have a sore spot on my side sort of under where your bra band goes around your body on the opposite breast. Had an ex-ray last week showed up normal but I am going for a U/S on Monday to make sure there is nothing hiding on my rib wall. Today I have started to get these tingle, tremor feeling in my left breast, they happen every few minutes. I would just like to know if anyone else has had these sensations it's just like an eyelid flicker. Thanks in advance.221Views0likes6CommentsPMS during menopause π³
I never thought Iβd say this, but Iβm really looking forward to my Zoladex injection tomorrow. Why? So it will continue to keep me in artificial menopause, so these PMS symptoms can bugger off again!! π€¨. So yeah, PMS and artificial menopause, both at the same time. Who woulda thunk it. So basically, I get 3 weeks of feeling wonderful, and then one week of feeling moody, overly sensitive, angry, sore, tired etc, just like I did when I was not in artificial menopause. Had to check with the McGrath nurse to make sure I wasnβt going insane, and yeah, Zoladex tends to start wearing off towards the end of the 28 days, before the next injection is due. Feeling these PMS symptoms again, after having felt the freedom of not having them, made me realise just how tough they were, and how hard it was going through all that every single month for almost 30 years!! Not to mention the actual period, which lasted 7 days and was heavy. My goodness, what a freaking Wonder Woman I am!!! All that, while working and life in general!! And then for men to have the audacity to say to me βwhy are you so angry??β Knowing full well exactly why π€¦πΌββοΈπ€¦πΌββοΈπ€¦πΌββοΈ. On top of that, my right hand is numb and weak thanks to Letrozole. I canβt feel anything with it. Can barely open a jar. Joints and body aches when getting up, takes a minute to be able to walk and move. All I gotta say is, to all of us incredibly strong and wonderful women, is: I am strong, I am invincible (although donβt always feel like it), I am woman! ππ»πͺπ»π¦ΈββοΈππ»ππ»ππ». Itβs slowly becoming my new favourite song. Love to all β₯οΈ M Xxx131Views1like5Comments
