microblading - eyebrows
Hi Ladies, i hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday. Just a quick questions, I have been told I need Chemo before surgery as I have TNBC. I just wanted to ask about Microblading eyebrows as I have been told I will lose my hair (which I knew anyway) but also my eyebrows will go. My oncologist appt is next Wednesday to organise my regime and then presume my first session will be shortly after - again not sure what to expect or timelines ect. the reason i knew about microblading is a good friend of mine has a sister that specialses in this and especially works with cancer patients that are going through chemo so she has recommended her to me. Has anyone had this done and if so is there side affects, should i do this before chemo starts and i lose the hair ect. appreciate your adivce. x843Views0likes26CommentsDocetaxel side effects
My next 4 chemos are docetaxel. Its side effects are really scaring me. Has anyone else had it and how bad was it? Does it make you loose hair as I have been doing the cold cap and dont want to waste all that time and stress. Also I've heard it can cause neuropathy, and some use ice to stop it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Ican see me sitting there with a cold cap , and hands and feet in ice!π²π£ππ¨512Views0likes25CommentsChemo is finished, my hair is growing - should I shave my head to thicken my hair? Is there ...

Hi all, it's been a little while, hope you all doing well and this year brings you all good health and happiness. I am almost done with my chemo (AC and 12 weeks paclitaxel, 4 perjeta and another one (not sure of name), 2 more infusions of paclitaxel. Did anyone find bits of fluffy hair starting to grow already? I don't want to get too excited but am starting to notice some growth. Anxious and excited about my appointment tomorrow with the surgeon to discuss surgery options and how the tumors have responded to the chemo. Any advice would be appreciated. Still awaiting genetic testing results. Now the fun part. We have a family wedding in October this year and some other events and I am very excited for my hair to start growing. Any tips or advice. Scalp treatment or oils etc vitamins. Should I have a shave after chemo so the hair grows evenly and also what kind of length can I expect in 6 months or so. How did you hair grow? Lastly. If anyone is based in Sydney and would want to meet for a chat, support, pray , let me know. Would love to meet some ladies, we can encourage each other. Can direct message me if you like. Thanks and look forward to hearing your progress xxx483Views1like13CommentsThinning of eyebrows after treatment
Hi everyone, I have come across a really good product that I have been using to fill in my eyebrows, which once I start Chemotherapy I will be using this product to put eyebrows on using one of the many stencils that they supply. The product is called fab brows. website is www.fabbrows.com If youβre interested have a look, the product is smudge proof, waterproof, comes of with washing face or make up remover. This will be my best friend once treatment starts. Sending hugs to everyone π393Views2likes15CommentsHot weather headwear
Its warming up in Adelaide. My scarfe and Hot flushes are making me warm. I can't wait to get them off when I get home from anywhere. Any suggestions? My sister said can't you take it off if you are not embarrased when you are out and I said im not embarrassed but its a state of undress like taking your undies off when you are wearing a skirt midway when you are out. She gave me a link to something called a coolcap. Ive bought 1 to try out.353Views1like18CommentsHair Diaries
After around week 3 of starting chemo,I started loosing chunks of hair in the shower. It started to feel so dry and unhealthy, not to mention messy! It was upsetting me So I decided to shave it all off. I felt relieved after that. It was one less thing for me to deal with. I started losing my eyelashes and eyebrows From about week 4 of Paclitaxol and continued to fall out until around after week 4 of stopping chemo. Once they all fell out the eyelashes started to grow back within a week and eyebrows about 2 weeks. Both are still growing and getting thicker and longer by the week. I will update with a week 9 picture soon as I have just had surgery so had to skip week 8. 4 weeks after stopping chemo, visible signs of hair just starting to come through 5 weeks 6 weeks 7 weeks282Views0likes10CommentsChemo & hair loss
I am yet to have treatment plan confirmed but expecting chemo to be part of it. Interested in the use of the cold caps to reduce hair loss. Would love to hear from anyone who has used these and to hear of the cost, the discomfort level and of course whether you did keep your hair.245Views0likes19CommentsCold capping
I start chemo next week and I'm considering using a cold cap. I'll be having 4 x TC. Can anyone who has used the cold cap during TC shed any light on how effective it is with this type of chemo? I know it varies from person to person, but from what I've read the chemo regime has a big impact on the effectiveness of the cold cap225Views0likes15Comments
