Hi, I have only just seen your message. I have been on Aromasin for 9 months. Letrozole didn't agree with me at all. I had mild Dupuytrens in in my right hand, little finger, for at least 5 years but it has become a lot worse over the past months. It does become painful. I have trigger finger in my ring finger, same hand. It is the same for me, I can’t hold the steering wheel of my car well or open a jar with a tight lid. Any action that requires grip hurts. I've got 'the claw'. Its continually getting worse. I had my surgery at the Mater also . Both the surgeon and my oncologist and based at the Poche centre and I have the greatest of trust in them. I have spoken with a good hand surgeon but its obviously not worth having surgery until I stop taking Aromasin. How are you coping now? Did you try radiation? any success?Re: Immune system lowered
Hi Cath62, Thank you. I'm trying to do all the above with not a lot of success!. I've emailed my oncologist but hadn't thought about contacting my breast care nurse. I'll give her a call. 🙂 I just wondered if taking Aromasine lowered my immune system. Hi Everyone, My oncologist transferred me to Aromasin mid April. I had been on Tamoxifin then Letrozole (which did not agree with me at all) previously. Since changing to Aromasin my immune system seems to be very low. In the last 4 weeks I have had a chest infection, a cold, laryngitis and finally tested positive for Covid last Sunday. I'm normally very healthy and maybe catch a small sniffle once a year. Has anyone else found themselves in the same situation and how have you dealt with it? I'm not dealing with it very well. I only need to look at someone and I seem to get sick. Thanks xRe: Tamoxifen
Hi All, can’t work out how to start a new discussion on my phone so I’ve tagged on to this one. I’ve been on tamoxifen for approx 9 months and have just started getting swelling on one foot and ankle plus opposite hand/fingers. Has anyone else had this side effect? Hi Batshan, I too used Dr Google and scared myself silly! . Find your McGrath breast cares nurse. They are such a wealth of knowledge. I spoke with mine religiously about anything and everything. The nurses were kind and very patient. This website was my saviour going through surgery to radio therapy, lymphedema to hormone blockers, the lot! There's is a wealth of information here. The ladies that you meet here are so very supportive too. Write down every question. I walked in to all my appointments with a notepad and pen... and a good friend to hold my hand. @staton I understand. Mine is right breast. My side effects didn't really kick in until the end of my rads. I did start to have a little irritation towards the end of the last week. The few weeks following, my skin was itchy, red and lumpy (like hives) and I was very tired. I had afternoon naps on the weekends. I kept using QV soap and sorbolene cream plus took clarentyne tablets to help with the irritation.15Views1like0Comments
