Re: Just diagnosed stage 1 - feeling scared
Hi all. As Christmas looms and surgery coming up I am so glad to have this community to talk to. It's lonely enough at these times but even harder having to have surgery and wait for next steps! Thanks for all your support. xx4ViewsSign in to react to this post0Comments3 weeks after lumpectomy- swollen still?
hi friends. I'm just wondering if anyone can shed light on how long it takes after lumpectomy for the bruising and pain to subside? I had a lump removed 3 weeks and 4 days ago and still getting shooting pain and still bruised. Feeling over it. I am about to have another operation on Thursday and I'm just a bit worried I will never get thto feeling back. i have a big scar down under the breast near under arm, it looks like a half a martini glass rim. Then between the scar and nipple I have weird dents and it's numb, then black bruise under nipple. Breast still feels hard and swelling keeps going up and down. Is this normal?ViewsSign in to react to this postCommentsRe: Just diagnosed stage 1 - feeling scared
Hi all I had surgery and have to have a second operation as some cancer in the ducts. Getting through the post operation and swelling has been hard. Work and friends have helped. Even spoke to my ex husband for the first time in 12 months. Felt very vulnerable at time but managed to get through. It's just a journey I have to take on my own.ViewsSign in to react to this postCommentsRe: Just diagnosed stage 1 - feeling scared
I'm overwhelmed by how amazing and inspiring all your messages are. Today at work the boss didn't mention it at all. Didn't ask how I was or acknowledge that I have a big few weeks coming. On the plus side, I didn't get any crap from her. This sight is amazing. Thank you all for your lovely messages. Just had a friend say she is coming with me to my appointment. I feel blessed now. I'm not alone. Hugs to all on this journey. It's a strange thing to hear that you have the C word. Never expect it but the odds are high. However, the odds are better on surviving it. xxViewsSign in to react to this postCommentsRe: Just diagnosed stage 1 - feeling scared
Hi @rowdy realiy appreciate your message and a coffee would be nice. I just can't believe my bosses reaction but as my friend said, - she is consistent! I am exhausted at moment. But will fight and take all the advise I am hearing. XxViewsSign in to react to this postCommentsRe: Just diagnosed stage 1 - feeling scared
Hi everyone thank you all for the lovely messages. Just to top all of it off I have just buried my brother . The day before finding out I have cancer. We were estranged and he was violent, but all the same it was tough. And I have a bully boss who said I at least have sick and annual leave and wants me to use it rather than come in! Doesn't want me coming in if I am going to maybe make mistakes as it's important I am 100% as so important is my job.... I'm an EA to marketing director is not for profit company!!! Hmmmm it's not like my job could loser the company millions of dollars or people might die!! During all my tests and funeral I made a mistake of sending a document with track changes on it and she slapped me via email!! It's actually causing me additional stress that I don't need. I need to work so I have a distraction. I also need moneyViewsSign in to react to this postCommentsJust diagnosed stage 1 - feeling scared
Hi all Three weeks ago I was in the shower and noticed a lump. I'm not a lumpy breast person so I realised straight away. It was tender also. So I booked a mammogram through breast screen and saw my Dr. a few issues in my personal life made me forget a little about it and then breast screen got hold of me. They called me in and did more tests. Biopsy was awful and I did it all alone. Really wish now that I'd taken a friend. 2 days later I get told I have cancer. Again, alone. I'm still in a little shock. It's the waiting game now. Just not really knowing when surgery is to happen and what all the next steps are. As I live in Melbourne and the breast clinics are in Tuesdays I have another week to wait! Today I found this forum and don't feel so alone. I have friends who care and my mum is in Qld and will come down if I need. But something is holding m back from asking. Left my husband last year. Has been a rough ride and it's like this is the final piece of the let's keep kicking me. I know it's a good result if I have to have it and I see so many people have it so much worse than me. I'm glad I found this. Dont feel so alone. Scared - yes. Alone - noViewsSign in to react to this postComments
