Surgery postponed grrr
Had a call from my surgeon today to advise me that in their discussions today about my surgery they found another lump today on same breast but opposite side from a recent mammograms I had on Monday. Needless to say I'm an emotional wreck at the moment. Rush to have ultrasound then another core biopsy done results tomorrow and then back to doctor Monday. I'm so pissed this was missed in the first scans I had. He has assured
me it looks benign but just want to make sure as it will change my surgery if it is not. Back to square one.

Sounds like your surgeon is doing what is best for you. Glad your new surgery date is soon, you must be so looking forward to having it over with. Wishing you a speedy week. - Alrighty.....second lump is benign phew but will have to be removed..as it one that grows....surgery this Friday.....dr is onlyGoing to remove cancer then once all healed etc they will then take out second lump..the reason he is not doing it is because they are on opposite sides there would be too much disfiguring and other option would be to removed the breast which is rather drastic and not necessary . So now get my head back in the game and bring on Friday.
- Nads I'm so sorry!!! My core biopsy from my first diagnosis 2011 was benign but my surgeon didn't believe it, he said sometimes they just don't hit the exact spot. He put me straight in for a lumpectomy and thank god as it was BC. 2015 a recurrence, I had 2 types of biopsies and ended up after all that having to have a lumpectomy anyway, as this is the only way they can get difinitive pathology for diagnosis. Gosh 5yrs of going through this, for me if ever I'm faced again, I'd go straight for lumpectomy. Big hugs one step at a time! Melinda xx

same thing happened to me original biopsy 1 tumour
after mammogram 3D found 2 more had 2 more biopsies luckily I had a small satellite which were all grade 1 but at 12oclock, 1 and 3 surgery still went ahead and took them all out.. as much as it frustrates and scares us it has to be done as first ultrasound missed my other 2 hold on surgery will soon be over x
