Recovering from Surgery

I had my surgery Monday. The Dr had to take out a bigger area then he had thought but is confident he got what he needed to. Pain was quite bad and stayed in overnight to get on top of it. Back home now and feeling pretty bruised and battered. Tired most of the time so resting up all the time. Now to wait for the results to see what path I'm on from here.
Thank you everyone for your words so far and for sharing your stories. It makes it that little easier when there are people you know that understand where your at physically and emotionally. It's a place that you can only understand once you on this journey.

  • The longer they take with the preliminary results the better. Mine came back in less than a week with a node positive report and I had to have surgery again 3 weeks later. Rest up and don't neglect the exercises your breast nurse or physio advise; you will be better for it. <3
  • Amazing how tired we get after surgery. But rest up when you need to and regukar pain relief.  Hope all goes well with results and treatment plan is soon in place.
  • Fingers and toes crossed for a good result., rest while you can
  • Hi Shaylee,  great to hear your surgery is done and you are back home.  I hope you are as lucky as me and get your results quickly - mine came back in 4 days.  After everything you have gone through, this last wait feels like forever.  Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope you are not in too much pain.  Our thoughts will be with you for good results.  take care, Jane xx
  • Shaylee, Glad to hear that you are back home and recuperating. I ended up waiting two weeks after surgery for my pathology results as they weren't ready the first week and it was some of the hardest waiting I've ever done. Try and concentrate on doing things that are enjoyable and relaxing. Hoping for you that your results are as good as can be. Xx
