Lymph nodes
A friend recently had a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed, she says that under her arm is numb and that this is not going to improve. Is this one of those 'it happens to some, it doesn't happen to others' situation? Thanks

- Many thanks. As always the words of wisdom are: we are all having a unique journey so just wait and see. I am getting better at this 'wait and see' thing (well I tell myself this). I hope that this is one of the things that I will carry over into my life after BC. Regards
- A certain amount of numbness is common, it does tend to improve over time. The incidence may depend on a combination of how many nodes, the degree of damage done to nerves in the process, site of surgery etc, so like many things with bc treatment, it’s variable. From my point of view, the numbness hasn’t affected much at all, and my arm mobility was extremely good immediately after surgery, which mattered more to me.
