Hot flushes and other stuff:)
Hello ladies!
Just a quick update on where I am in my 'journey'. I had some light spotting a couple of months ago,and because I am post menopausal,and on Tamoxifen,I had a biopsy.They didn't get enough tissue,so now I am having to have a hysteroscopy and D & C, just to make sure everything is ok.
I am pretty sure it will be, but this will be a good way of telling how things are going, so if there are changes in the future,they will know by how much.
My other thing,that is driving me nuts,are my hot flushes.They seem to be getting worse,so I decided to keep a record of when I get them,and see if there is a pattern.Would you believe,they start about an hour after I get up in the morning.They happen about every hour,all day,with about a 3 hour break in the afternoon,between 1 and 4.
Then they wake me about 3 times each night.I am going to start taking my Tamoxifen in the morning,and see if it makes any difference.I know there are medications that you can take,but I really don't want to go down that path if I don't have to.
Anyway,that is my update and my whinge!! I hope everyone is doing as well as they can be.

I have been on Tamoxifen since February 2013. My hot flushes are quite mild now.
I found that aften an occasional cappuccino or glass of wine they were bad. Since I have given up my occasional treats my life has been more pleasant.

- Am sure it is working as well - am doing the Mother's Day Classic in Domain this week with family so feel the more I exercise do the better for my all round health Cheers Fiona :)

Good luck with the procedure....I'm sure it will get it sorted then you've only got the hot flushes to sort out!
Sorry to hear they are such a pest......but had to laugh at the cardigan off, cardigan on! (Karate Kid by any chance?)
I seem to get the hot flushes about an hour after taking tamoxifen....then maybe every hour till I go to bed - night time I wake up a few times and have to throw the quilt off (usually ontop of hubby!), put my arms above the blanket, and move the dog away from me (yes, I know...bad to have dog in the bed!)....I don't notice hot flushes during the day until I take my tablet.
My family knows when I'm having a hot flush too and think it is a joke to see me suddenly discard the ugg boots & take my cardi off! Then put them back on again 5 minutes later.....better to laugh about it then cry I suppose! We've all done enough of that I'm sure.....

- That is annoying that the hot flushes have increased. So far so good with mine being fairly mild and very few but it seems that things keep changing so we never know do we? I wonder if the cooler weather has an effect? We wear more clothes so maybe it intensifies the heat when they happen? Hope the change to a morning dose works for you. i like humming marilyn monroe song..'having a heat wave..a tropical heat wave...'which seems to help!

I also take mine in the morning but have flushes all night- so I think no avoiding them, sadly!
