After surgery diagnosis

Hey there
So it's been a week since surgery and  my results are in.. a node showed up cancerous. Totally not what I expected. I have an appt tomorrow with the oncologist. I have no idea what to ask or what happens. Feeling nervous. Then radiotherapy and they may also take out the remaining nodes. A meeting will decide that next week.

  • @Trikki2 sorry to hear that  :/. Maybe try end take someone with you and try to maybe come up with some questions today that you would like to ask. I was forever walking around with my little folder filled with info, blood and path results and questions. Xoxox
  • Hi @Trikki2,

That stinks.  It's just so horrible waiting and waiting until you know exactly what the plan is.  Can you take your breast care nurse to the appointment with you?  She will remember to ask everything you might forget and give you support.  There is a lot to take in at these appointments.  Once you know what the plan is you will feel somewhat more in control.  All the best for today.  Keep in touch.

  • It's a kick in the guts to hear that it's hit the nodes, isn't it?  It wasn't what I expected, either as examinations beforehand suggested that it was clear.  What will be suggested will probably depend a lot on the rest of the path report.  Have you got someone you trust to go with you to the appointment?  It's always useful to have another pair of ears and someone to pick up on points you may have missed, particularly when your mind is probably spinning.
