advise

Hi ladies, I apologize up front for not being in touch recently. I have returned to work and have been so busy it's not funny. I returned to work on light duties seeing as I have a very physical job. But in the last 2 weeks my right side is very sore and feels torn from below my ribs to justaabove my scar. My bilateral mastectomy was in February. Has anyone else experienced this sort of pain? It has gotten to the point where my prosthetics hurt to wear. Love you all lots please advise xxx

  • Thank you what you have said makes soo much sense. I know it isn't ribs but cartilage is explainable. Im a motician so my job is very physical as you could possibly imagine. Im now not so concerned thank you and good luck with your own recovery big hug and lots of support to you xx
  • Nice to hear from you,but sorry you have pain.I posted on my blog last week about tightness that I have recently been feeling on my right side, which is the side I had my mastectomy on.But actually,it is just painful, and not getting any better. It has just appeared, and I actually went to the doctor during the week,as I could actually pinpoint an area of pain.He sent me for an X-ray,thinking I may have damaged a rib,but it came back fine,so the doctor said it is most likely cartilage damage.Perhaps I have strained too much without realising,he said. I am actually taking neurofen to help me sleep at night, and I have never had any thing like this before.I am starting to think that after a mastectomy,we are a lot more vulnerable than we realise, because of all the damage to nerves and muscles that takes place. One lady replied to my post that her doctor told her that pain months after surgery can be attributed to nerve regeneration also.I hope you get to the bottom of what is causing your problem.Cheers xoxRobyn
