It took a while for it to 'work thru the skin layer' - but I can feel the heat/burn right now, so it is definitely working. My lips are still burning, the nose less so. I was careful when I went to the loo! ;)
I would suggest that you use a small plastic bag over your 'other hand' when applying it so you don't get it onto your fingertips - and maybe apply it only to the top of the hand and the base of the thumb (not all over all the fingers on the underneath as well, cos that is how I transferred it to my nose & lips.) I even washed my hands with detergent to get rid of it .... but I think some stayed!!
Then use the bag on the other hand to deal with the first hand!! You can use it on any joint/ache area - just keep it away from sensitive flesh!
Trust me - you do NOT want to put onto ANY sensitive portions of skin/flesh!
I've just come from a 2hr uke session with my group & wasn't 'aware' of my hands most of the time, which is good!!
Right now, I can form a fist and nowhere near as much pain! I will definitely put it on again tonight before I go to bed. I will use it morning & night & see how I go .... then maybe try night only or day only.
@Deanne - that is terrific that your chemist is getting some in for you! It is MY right thumb that is extremely sore just now too, tho the left one isn't much better (but I don't use it as much!)
