TC Chemotherapy
Had Round 3 of TC chemo on Monday morning. Bone aches arrived like clockwork on Thursday night, but now on Friday, I seem to have lower back pain and hip pain for the first time as well. Is this normal? I have been walking 1.5 - 2 kms each day this week.
I am finding the variety, and variance, of side effects, to be weird. For example, Round 1, a little nausea, Round 2, a lot, Round 3, none so far.

- kmakmMember@"Kiwi Angel" The public nature of my illness being known was more confronting for me than the actual hair loss itself. My BreastCare nurse said most women feel like this. I still don't like it and I've been bald for two months now.
- kmakmMemberOh @Finch that is simultaneously hilarious and awful! You poor thing.
I won't worry about a manicure at the moment. Bit too painful anyway. My nails have to be clear of coloured polish for the operation. But after the op I'll definitely get one to cover up the brown marks. Hopefully the nails won't come off... - Kiwi_AngelMember@Finch. So sorry the hair loss is happening. It was the thing that worries me so much as it makes a very private battle more public. Murphy’s law that your bloody neighbour would show up. Huge hugs and thinking of u xoxoxox
- SisterMemberI can't click "like" for your comment @Finch but it's sod's bloody law, isn't it? It reminds me of when (in my young and fabulous single days) I used to live in a very inner city suburb with all the restaurants, etc. and the one time I'd go out of the house looking daggy would be the time I would meet the very person I least wanted to see me like that!
- FinchMemberOh no @kmakm, I don't like hearing that. Can you get a manicure?
My hair is falling out like the autumn leaves are dropping on the trees .... I refuse to let this get me down, although shed a quiet tear yesterday over the phone with a friend. Not because of my hair but because you couldn't make this stuff up. How is that a neighbour you haven't seen since since mid December suddenly gets to knock on your back kitchen open door as you're standing there naked in the bathroom with a vacuum cleaner, trying to get some control of the situation. So when you call out in a panic you're just out of the shower (with vacuum on) and you'll be there in a minute and 5 mins later you come out dressed with an Acubra hat on . No-one ever knocks on our back door. We are in the bush, with distance between properties. If there is one person in the world I wouldn't tell, it's this person. You couldn't write it in a script. - kmakmMemberAnd @Joannie, I've still got my blepharospasms going on...
- kmakmMemberThree weeks after my last TC infusion I woke up to find that overnight the remaining six fingernails have started to discolour. The markings on the first four that changed are quite dark and those fingertips are a little numb. And just now, a few days later, I've noticed that three more toenails are turning brown. Not. Happy. :/

- kmakmMember@Joannie Hee hee! Love it. My favourite is the name for that involuntary muscle spasm you can have as you go to sleep: myoclonic jerk!
