TC Chemotherapy

I was cleaning my windscreen at the petrol station on Friday and had a spot of stubborn unknown substance that wouldn't come off with the squeegee. It was with great pleasure that I realised for the first time in months I had a couple of fingernails strong and long enough to scrape it off. I don't care that it was probably old bird poo! I've still got some nails breaking from the chemo but the end is in sight for my nails. Whoo hoo! Small thing I know but it was cheerful to observe!

yep I did they had 3 different variations before we could get my body to cope with it at all.... 
it is a bugger Fletch when we have reactions to the chemo. 
you will get there.... one step at a time

Hello @Fletch how scary for you another reaction, a relief to hear that it was not as bad as the previous one.  Take care of yourself.

Never though reaching the halfway mark of only 4 rounds could take so long! Lol

Well, home again, reaction AGAIN today, not as bad as yesterday because they gave me heaps extra pre-meds and it was half pace. Still, that’s it no more. Tomorrow I go back again to try a sister drug! 
Thankyou for the well wishes, it really helps to keep going. I was so positive this morning, not even nervous, oh well, we try again.

Anyone else had to change their cocktail of TC?

@Fletch u poor thing - so scary. I had a mild dizziness reaction my first infusion so they gave me some extra drugs and stopped for an hour. After that they gave me the meds again as standard and I never had another problem. Good the staff were on the ball - good luck for today xoxox

@Fletch What a traumatic experience!  You're in for special treatment, now!  Take it easy and don't let hubby anywhere near you.

It's pretty weird eh @Fletch?! I reacted to my first infusion. I was being watched like a hawk, the nurse literally standing over me and staring. She spotted it a fraction of a second before I opened my mouth to say my face felt weird. It doesn't sound as dramatic as yours but my gosh did that woman's hands and arms move very very fast. Two other nurses arrived very quickly as my chemo was switched off, flushed and then I was pumped full of phenergan & an antihistamine. And then like you, a very slow infusion. They said allergic reactions to taxotere aren't all that unusual.

From then onwards I had the (fabulous) phenergan & antihistamine before anything and so I spent most of chemo dozing and having very hallucenogenic 'dreams'. A very bizarre time of my life.
