TC Chemotherapy

Fortunately I have had my eyebrows tattooed for the last 12 years. My eyelashes went in June, 4 months after I finished chemo, so that was a surprise. There was a meagre stubble a week later and they were back within a month. Took about 2 weeks to completely fall out. 

@kmakm @Sister mine look ok at the moment as I’m just filling them in - a very nice lady at the MAC counter showed me how to do it and gave me a try using a pencil or powder. Found the pencil a little easier. 

Ditto @Sister! I had to be shown how to do it at a Look Good Feel Better workshop. I didn't lose mine completely but they looked very odd so I used the eyebrow pencil I got from the workshop as a filler a few times.

I've found that a soft, sharp pencil is necessary and use light feathery strokes - build up, rather than draw.  Except for the one time my husband laughed (and that was due to the wrong pencil and bad lighting), I have managed okay so far but it's getting much harder now to find the line.  I have had lots of comments that my eyebrows look good and surprise that they're not real but of course, people could just be saying that.  And it's not something that I have done before - I'm of an era of no eyebrow pencils!

@Sister I’m not the best with makeup anyway as I don’t wear it that often and don’t have the steadiest hand - god knows what mine will end up looking like if I have to draw them in!!  

@kmakm seems like the first hair to go is growing back the quickest- lady garden seems to be growing on a daily basis - will have to start trimming again soon. The leg hair was the last to go and seems to be the sparsest at the moment. 

@"Kiwi Angel" @Sister Mine got sparser before they started to fill in a bit. It was over three months before they started to look better. They're not back to what they were but they're very acceptable now.

I've seen some young girls with those and they look bizarre - like rampant caterpillars - but maybe it's all in the application!

@sister that’s my concern - if they completely go I won’t be able to draw them in - I need a line to follow. I think u can get eyebrow stencils and u just fill them
in 

I asked the onc about hair yesterday.  He reckons that the hair on my head should start to grow back as soon as the drugs are through my system (and I already have a fetching look of male-pattern baldness) but that eyebrows which I'm more concerned about at the moment, may take months!  It's getting harder to draw them on as I have no guidelines anymore (my husband had a laugh at one of them last week).  I never wanted to get them tattooed but maybe I should have investigated temporary tattoos.

@kmakm my eyebrows are getting sparser - for some reason this is pissing me of more than anything else. Probably cause it is happening almost 2 months post chemo!!
