Tamoxifin

I have now been on Tamoxifin for 4 weeks, all seems to be good but in the last couple days have had a yucky discharge - of course had to google the so said side effects and some of what I found said that it will go away. Hoping this is right - or do I panic and run off to my GP.

Still on 3 weekely herception and still aching. Am today off to my first Aqua class so best dash.

Take care all you lovely ladies out there.

  • Thanks Tonya,

I think I just panic and think there is something wrong as I have suffered from Endometriosis

It's 14 months since I had my last period and am sure I have not over menopause.

About a weeks after I started Tamoxifin I had pains like ovulation pains I would get - strange. Dont see my Oncologist until the 22nd.

Your right always something else to worry about. Just wish it was all over and back to normal life but have to be realistic its going to be a while.

    Take care Linda :)

  • When did you last have a period and are you well over  menopause? These questions might help you decide whether to run to the doctors.I hadn't had a period for 3 years and have been on Tamoxifen for over 2 years. I decided to have a month off this drug over xmas/new year cos it was so hot and my hot flushes were driving me nuts.Anyway, when I started it back up again I got a similar discharge to what you have.I went to my gp and she ordered blood tests(tumour markers etc) and a pelvic ultrasound. It all came back normal and so when I saw my oncologist for my annual visit he said not to worry that this sometimes happens. However,he also said if the discharge keeps going then go back to my gp and I guess I'd have to see a gynea then.I've had it now for about 6 weeks but it's barely noticeable now -gonna hold out abit longer! If you haven't had a recent pap test or you are worried then go see your gp.You would probably be ordered the above tests I mentioned. Always seems to be something to worry about after the bc journey ay.
