Tamoxifen and sex drive ?
Hi I have been on Tamoxifen for 23 nights and weirdly my sex drive has gone from zero to right up there! This is the exact opposite to what I had expected . Has anyone else had this occur and if so please tell me it lasts for decades as I am only 47 and now seems my fancy old pill Zoely caused atrophy and since not being allowed on the pill that has settled down along with the use of Sylk internally and externally.
The only info I can find are some very happy women in the UK with the same reaction but then doubting if the medication is working. I have had hot sweats and waking and metallic taste in mouth but I changed the time to 5ish and that seems to have helped plus I am taking Collagen food which is high in MSM .
Cheers

I found in 4yrs none of it has affected libido, sex drive at all, no medications or treatments, Chemo things slowed a little as was incredibly ill, but overall through these years it hasnt impacted my sex drive really at all. Really feel its more to do with other things and how you are managing the journey. Enjoy! LOL

Thanks ladies, I have no idea what it is but I hope it continues as my hubby of 12 years had a total brain fart when I started taking it and pretty much called marriage over as he thought he was never going to get it again. Rather gutted and devasted and so I would have thought emotionally I would not be slightly interested etc but exact opposite .. Reminds me of the only times I was off the pill and ovulating and being horny as hell (normally rather lack lusture etc)

Nope I am 54 and on Tamoxifen and don't seem to even get aroused and interested enough to do anything. I wonder sometimes when the oncologist man prescribed it in front of me and my husband did he think you poor fella, you aint gonna get any excitement.

Hi Lynda,
That sounds super unusual LOL, to be a result of the Tamoxifen. I was on it for 4yrs, my sex drive was great before and continued. It didnt alter it in anyway. I had a recurrence on Tamoxifen a 4yrs so after Chemo Im now on Arimidex and thrown into early menopause thanks to Chemo. Sex Drive has dwindled a little but I feel its the menopause more than medication.
In terms of other side effects on Tamoxifen, I had none, wish you well!
Cheers,
Melinda

I wish!!
I am on femara, and between vaginal dryness and drooping libido it's not the best but I will persevere and be inventive as I would prefer to keep on the treatment.
There are very few good things come out of cancer treatment, so enjoy!!
