Tamoxifen and hot flushes.

Hi all, new to the forum so here goes. I am 5 years (yayyyy) post breast cancer diagnosis and treatment - surgery , chemo, radiation and tamoxifen. Hot flushes are the bane of my life, for the last year or so. I can't have hormonal therapy because I was oestrogen and progesterone receptor positive so I was put on Effexor which helps somewhat, but not much (it does help with my anxiety, or craziness, as I call it

  • Hi Rosie - side effects are the one thing that drive me nutty and when you are on multiple medications or treatment you can't work out which is the main culprit!  I'm hot and everyone else in the household is cold or Vicky verka .............. it is somewhat part of my new normal.  For me it is about acceptance and trying to work around the side effects, some days easier said than done!
Yay to your post 5 years!  What a milestone!  Just try and roll with it if you can or think of something that makes you smile to break the tension that is building over the side effects!
    Take care xx
