Hi, i`m 39, i was told i have invasive ductal carcinoma grade 3 that has spread to armpit and nodes in my lungs, i knew about the breast tumour and armpit nodes but only found out about the lung nodes today, my local gp said they cant operate on them but didnt want to say anymore as hes not a cancer specialist.....i have no idea what that means, i do see my specialist on monday but getting through the weekend not knowing what this means is killing me, i`d just got over the crying all the time thing and started eating, now i feel like when i first found out, crying, feel sick etc can anyone give me any info on this and also looking for relaxation ideas, i cant keep taking the sleeping pills they gave me So glad i found this site, it has helped sooooooo much already :)

It's a tough diagnosis you are facing. BUT. Waiting to know what comes next is harder, as many of the women will tell you,than knowing the next step. This is so tough,having to wait the weekend.I suggest getting out in the fresh air and walk.Movement always helps to settle you ,if only a little,when you are stressed.I am hoping that other ladies in the same situation as you will come on here to offer advice.Like Julie said,chemo these days keeps secondaries at bay for years.Have you called up BCNA and ordered your 'hopes and hurdles' pack.It is free,and they will send it out quickly.I think the phone number is on the home page.Its Saturday already,so only one more day until Monday!Stay on here as much as you need to.Take care.xoxRobyn

Sorry to see you here but welcome. They found cancerous lymph nodes behind my breast bone and above my collar bone. I was told surgeon would not operate on that area but radiation would zap the buggers and send them packing. Yes when I realised I had cancer and waiting for results I slowed right down and did some very simple things I had not done for ages as too busy racing around on the roundabout of working life. Wow- that's a hell of a ride you've had.You poor love,what mental torture you've had to endure.It would seem you are owed a few apologies,Thank goodness for your specialist being so thorough.It must be so emotional going from despair one minute to relief the next.I am very relieved for you and your blog may help other women to question an abnormal lung scan rather than accepting a cancer diagnosis.I've googled and learnt about Sarcoidosis now.Hope all goes well for your surgery and blog back if you have any questions. So after 2 local DRs and the city Breast care nurse telling me the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in my lungs, i actually asked the nurse straight out `is this going to kill me?` she said `yes`

i had a PET scan and a broncoscopy to do a biopsy on the lung nodes, went back to the specialist on thursday 28/8 to find out the diagnosis is SARCOIDOSIS...........

i had weeks of thinking this was it, my time was up,and it was nothing like that AT ALL i cant even begin to describe/explain my feelings over the last few weeks, i went from accepting it, to thinking about suicide, anger, sadness even had to go on anti depressant tablets, all because some people jumped the gun and just assumed the cancer had spread, i can never thank my specialists enough for the thorough testing they did, even though it did feel like it was taking for ever, so my surgery is booked for 10th Sept, i turn 40 on the 2nd Oct then 6 months of chemo

Sorry to hear your news, the waiting is the absolute worst. Like Tonya said, distraction helps a little. I have the cleanest cupboards and draws now, I went a bit crazy trying to take my mind off of things. Wishing you well on Monday, stay in touch, someone is always on this network who will help. So sorry to hear your news but glad you've found this network.I'm not sure what you've had done so far(surgery?) but I gather you've had a full body scan and there are nodes or areas of suspicion on your lungs?Do you have a written report with the scans?Sorry for the questions but it seems very hard on you for your GP to give you some of the information and then make you wait till Monday to see your specialist.I really feel for you- I think I'd be an anxious mess.I would probably fluctuate between meditating in my spa to calm myself down or clean out cupboards like a crazy lady to distract myself.Best wishes for Monday and let us know how you go.Big hug,Tonya xxx
