side effects of chemo

Guess we just wait and see what happens lol. I guess it's not poison for nothing.

My hands are fine...i do lots of knitting  and craft work, but my feet terribly cold with pins n needles and pain on top through the bone, and geez I've only had one hit of chemo so far...does that mean its going to worse?  Been using a heat wheat bag to put on feet, does help..yep the joys! Hehe!

Jenv, does the adriamycin cause neuropathy too?. I've finished my taxol treatments and have burning hands and feet and am limited to things I can do atm. Doing anything with my hands just aggrivates it further. Oh the joys lol.

LMK74, yep hear you on the constipation front, i knocked back the offer of coloxyl and senna as i am a carer/parent of a 36yr old autistic/epileptic boy and he has movicol so using that but i found leading up to that i was able to use a natural...lemon juice of one lemon, tbs olive oil and water and also regular drinking of green tea.
Chemo certainly not kind to body and we only at the start.
I think too, ive developed neuropathy of the feet as they are freezing and pins and needles....feet cold but body not...( apparently chemo can play havoc with legs and hands...for eff sake what next.

Jenv, thanks for your reply, and I'm sorry to hear you've had a recurrence. I hear you on the constipation front lol. I never had any problems in that department until starting chemo and now I'm in agony with fissures. Sorry if tmi but try get it sorted. I had diarrhea all through taxol but this first ac I'm terribly constipated. Been talking coloxy and senna tablet every night and is helping. Chemo certainly isn't kind on the stomach and bowels. 

LMK74, am having just A (Adriamycin), this is my second reocurrence...the b/c came back after 15 years as mets in  spine, liver and left lung...was kept at bay for 2 years with femera. i had AC back in 2000, and still remember feeling flat and drained from that after day 4...but after that had nothing bad in symptoms...yesterday, when got up in morning had to take an anti nausea med but was flat all day....now have constipation which i never have a problem with, so thats uncomfortable.

Midget, omg you're 70 doing chemo . That has to be tough. I'm not going to complain now lol. I've done 12 taxol already so 3 more ac to go. Hope you had a lovely day.

LMK74 for your info and help, I'm 70 had my op Jan 20 started chemo in March - every 3 weeks for 18 weeks - just had my 4th - it has devastated me, and specially the 3rd lot - spent lot of time in bed - not as bad this time - my chemo is docetaxel and carbyplatin plus herceptin - it's not fun but hang in there, you will make it - family, family as well - chin up and good luck - Midget

Jenv, which chemo are you doing. I'm on day 5 first round ac chemo and I too feel like zombie today. So far no nausea. Just lying in bed.

Yes, i have tinnitus as well and it really flares up with chemo hit.  Have had one chemo hit, five to go on a monthly basis....was waiting for side effects but all i got was a bit of constipation which is sorted but notice today, sunday, (chemo was wed) that i am extremely flat in terms of no energy so just laying low, pottering, knitting, reading, game on tablet....zombie like for want of better term.
