hi there everyone, I just had a recall back to Breast clinic after having my bone density test, and have been informed my bones are really thin, bummer, this is a side effect of Arimidex, so trust m...
Hi, I'm replying to Margaret's post just now, 18 months late, but I can't say whether or not I was notified about it at the time as my brother was in endstage with a brain tumour back in Oct 2010, and it's possible that I simply didn't find it in all the email messages I was dealing with back then. So sorry Margaret. I would definitely have kept in touch if I'd read it as I live alone too and know how hard that can be when you are not well.
By now your trial is probably over - or not? My trial of just vitamins is - and the jury has returned with the verdict 'not good enough'. My latest dexa scan showed increased loss of density to the degree where my GP was very keen to see me on a biphosphorate. I'd just had an injury in the garden and saw how easily it could have been a break so humbly agreed, and we settled on Prolia injections 6 monthly - because I have stomache problems. I hate having to do this because of the risk of necrotic bone disease after dental surgery (I have lots of dental problems) but like most of the women here, it is a choice between unpleasant alternatives. Because I had an early hysterectomy, my bone situation is probably more serious than some of you will be, though. And I was a bit naughty ignoring doctor's advice, wanting to do it my own way etc. The injections are worth looking into if anyone else has stomache problems on a biphosphorate, like Fosamax (?)
Now I'll look you up on you personal blog, Margaret, to see how youre doing. Cheers, Lizzy
