Neulasta Pain
Are there others on here that have had the Neulasta injection? I'm finding the bone pain from this is worse than the chemo. How long does the pain last? I had the injection on Friday. Saturday night was the worst pain but now I feel like I find a new bone every hour. Even across my chest every now and then. I'm also getting headaches.

- The Claratyne seems to have worked for me. Had my last one on Thursday :) I couldn't take any pain killers as they make me sick so anything was worth a try. Pain has still been there but very very mild compared to my first one.
- Hi all - I had my first Neulasta on Saturday after chemo on Friday. I will be glad to try the Claratyne - been okay until today but ouch! Walking and moving around has helped too. Thanks :)
- Hi Vicki I had terrible experience with bone pain from neulasta. At one stage it was so bad in my sternum that I thought I was having a heart attack! They gave me endone. It didn't work. The only thing that worked for me was naproxen which I got over the chemist as period pain tablets. It's NSAID and some oncologists don't like their patients taking them but the pain was excruciating so my onc relented. after taking them I was pain free in a hour.

- Thank you! I used Claratyne for the last one and didn't get any pain at all. I have two to go! Will do it again next week.
- Hi, yes I am on TCH with neulasta and have taken claratin also- it works, an hour before you give yourself the shot, then the next few days after. :)
- Hi Vickkido, I like Zoffiel also have read about Claratin and it was on one of the UK cancer sites and they recommend it with the neulasta injections. Can't hurt to give it a go (after check on with gp). All the best . Xx Cath
- Hi, after 5 rounds of chemo with Neulasta I did some research and found articles recommending Claratin. It works. I used to be lying on the floor crying for days, now I take a pill a day for 10 days starting on chemo day and apart from manageable discomfort on day 4 I'm OK. Can't believe something so simple could make such a difference. Ask your onc if they are ok with it. Not a great deal of research has been done on this--its a$1 per day solution so that doesn't surprise me much.
