When you go to a health appointment next time (for this or something else), take your thermometer in and ask if you can check the reading against theirs. That way you will have a better idea for future issues. Our thermometers were all a bit dodgy and took forever to read (got a fair workout when the kids were tiny). We actually invested in a good quality in-the-ear one when I first started chemo.
