Ah, @cranky_granny, my partner in eternal grumpiness 😄
I've had to break out the sewing machine as my previously enviable hourglass shape (OK, it was more of an hour bucket, there's a fair bit of me) has completely collapsed and I can't buy anything that fits my new, distinctly eccentric, profile. Think a large souffle that's been jumped on then poured into a series of plastic bags.
Anyway, the sewing thing quickly lost its gloss when I took the tape measure to myself. Vogue pattern sizing is unnecessarily cruel. Simplicity and Butterick have figured out this a sensitive subject and obligingly vanity size, but the grim reality is that being the same diameter around the guts as I am around the foobs means some creative cutting is required.
Add to this the fact my arse is now as flat as a pancake--and technically a size smaller than it was two years ago and you start to get the picture. Thank you Vogue for diagnosing me as 18 on top, 22 around the middle and 16 on the base. FFS.
I might as well give up and wear kaftans.
So yes, @Abbydog, rapid redistribution is a thing, and given I still weigh roughly the same, it's real bastard.
