How tired is tired

. Good Morning.

Just a quick question.

I had breast cancer in my left breast, have now had both removed, some precautionary chemo. I was so tired before any of it let alone how tired I am now.

I spent 18 months travelling through India, my life was calm, all I did was yoga, meditation, meet new people, drink chai, laugh, wonder through the amazing Himalayas, hike, hug trees and live a dream..... But I was tired so much of the time. Some days I needed naps, most days I had to rest... I didn't have energy that would last.

I did many blood tests checking for parasites etc while away and when I got home, all clear. My surgeon and other doctors in the hospital told me this wasn't caused by the cancer. I don't understand tho, if ur body is trying to fight something how it wouldn't be tried and fatigued.

My question is.... Was anyone else tired before they were diagnosed? Did u feel anything physically different?

Thank u, Healing light and energy x

  • Thank u for letting me know Emma.... I guess we have a long way to go. I'm not used to fighting so hard for fitness, it is usually harder to stop me.

    Peace xx

  • Hey Willow

10 months past and still tired.... wow, how long do we have to wait I wonder. I finished chemo April 20, surgery last week so I am a while behind u too.

I'm struggling with motivation these days and I used to practice yoga twice a day and walk.

How much chemo did u have?

  • Hello,

I remember being super tired in the months leading up to my diagnosis.  At the time I put it down to working Full Time and being a mum to a three year old but now I definitely believe that it was the cancer.  I also got the flu right before I had my lump checked out and it really knocked me around much more than anything had before.

I am still tired now and wonder when I will feel less tired.  My treatments finished in December 2015 and I have been back at work for a couple of months.  I have to remind myself that it will take time.

    Hugs Emma

  • I was also really tired before diagnosis. It's a relief to hear someone else say they were the same! I went to the Dr to get checked because I was eating well and exercising and not too stressed out so couldn't understand why I was fatigued and kept getting sick. I had a lot of other strange symptoms pre diagnosis. Getting a PAP smear done and a painful lump checked that had been there for years was my way of starting a medical history with a new Dr. I worry now because it's 10mths since treatment finished and I still feel the same fatigue and low immune system.

  • I felt the same, when I got little sicknesses while away I was out for days. Food poisoning put me in bed for 5 days, anything that brought my immune down felt the same.

    Thank u. X

  • I felt like I was getting colds, flus and infections a lot in the year leading up to my diagnosis and I felt like I was taking a lot longer than normal to heal and recover. But it could easily be a coincidence.
