And thank you for the frozen sock tip. My steroid hot flushes have just slowed down but I am starting Chemo Monday so expecting those chemo related hot flushes to start kicking in soon and will try freezing the socks definitely

Hi. Having already gone through menopause, well most of it anyway, I noticed slot of you commenting about it. Put a cool pack under your feet or put your sock in the freezer. It cools your feet and your blood too so hot flushes ease quicker. I wonder what chemo will do to my mid menopausal symptoms because I've taken natural tablet to help the symptoms of menopause in and off for a while. Sorry I'm 37, just diagnosed 4 days ago with invasive breast cancer and lumpectomy and node biopsy on Tuesday. 

Thank u Tanyagendle, very helpful.... I'm hoping my period comes back sooner rather then later so I can try get pregnant. Don't know how ur ovaries are?

My goodness that is so much, my heart goes out to u. I hope ur doctor is right. 

I disliked the steroids so so much, the made me feel awful but I know the outcome of not taking them would b much worse.

P2T, I had 6 rounds of Chemo starting in June last year, and was getting hot flushes every 2 hours during the night, less in the day. This started from the second chemo session. They reduced substantially during the 6 weeks of radiation. Once I started tamoxifen however they came back with vengeance, more in the day than at night. My oncologist put me on a low dose anti-depressant - Efexor, which has greatly reduced them in the day. I now only get them if I am stressed or wake with a start in the night.  The cooler weather has also helped me not be so overwhelmed from the heat. I am 47 now and have had my child, so was not worried about fertility. Treatment and pills have put me into menapause. I have other friends that are on special pills to maintain fertility while on treatment, so that they can try for a child post treatment ie 2 yrs after taking tamoxifen.

I finished chemo 4 weeks ago and am still getting hot flushes. They seem to have slowed down a little bit - maybe a few times a day now, as opposed to hourly whilst on chemo.

I am only starting chemo in 10days. No hot flushes yet... well not chemo related anyway. Been on steroids a lot due to allergies and they have been causing hot flushes and up to 12 changes of clothing sheets and pillows per night on most nights these past 6 weeks. No meds for that though as it is steroids and not hormone related ??????

Gyno was pretty certain that the post'chemo ones will be easily tteated and i am going to hold him to it...

Thank u for ur advice jdakic.... I will talk with the specialist. They put me on ivf  and I chose a donor to freeze embryos however we didn't have much time and it was unsuccessful. So now I have my hope and optimism and belief in my spiritual healer that I will have a baby!! : )

so did u go into menopause? Did the flushes stop yet?
