Help

hi everyone,  just need some thoughts on my treatment.  I am on my taxol when I experienced a massive rib pain that I could not breathe right & had bruises all over my body.  Doctor had stopped chemo but m only on my 4th.  M so worried that i stop early.  I did not have a clear mind n was not able to ask him the ridk etc.  Now he wants i do radio n hormone therapy. Its like i want to go back to chemo but my body seems to bot tolerate it & m losing so much weight.  I don't know what to do, will meet him on wednesday.

  • Hi there kimmi I had 4 doses of AC and 4 of taxsol and lost 10kg, my weight is stable now and I haven't lost any more or put any on 5 weeks after finishing chemo. I agree, write down questions to ask on Wednesday that's what I had to do to otherwise I would forget when I saw the dr!. Stay positive there are other options out there for you if you don't tolerate the taxsol. And definitely go to the hospital with your pain if you think its necessary. Hugs. Margie:)
  • I lost 5 kilos initially through worry & haven't been able to put it back on through chemo even though I eat really well. I don't weigh myself anymore because it worries me too much & feel I am wasting away.
  • I also lost weight thru my chemo.  Still trying to put some back on. I finished active treatment last April. I think you have enough to worry about so try not to be too concerned about weight loss.  Just eat as health as possible.

  • My sister-in-law had terrible back pain on chemo (and ended up in hospital after each session)  and had to stop chemo after only two of her planned four treatments. She didn't require radio but has just finished heceptim (not sure how to spell that) She had a double masectomy and is doing very well.  We are all different and the cause of her pain was never found. She has a very sensitive system and the chemo just did not agree with her. Trust your  specialists you can be sure this has happened to other women so they will know what to do. Take big big deep breaths, sounds silly but this will help calm you down as you are going through so much at present.
My thoughts are with you, keep us posted.

  • Take a deep breath and breathe. Start to make a list of questions now so you are ready for Wednesday. If pain gets worse go to emergency and get it checked out. I found it difficult as well when things kept changing, hang in there sending you a hug
