Heart Scan Result
I had my follow up Gated Blood Pool scan (also called a MUGA) the week after my reconstruction on 12/4 when I had my follow up appointment. It is now 3 months since I stopped Herceptin as my LVER (left ventricle efraction rate) had dropped to 43% and my herceptin was discontinued permanently after 11 cycles, instead of planned 17. Normal heart range is between 50-80% and my pre any treatment result was 69%.
So I am ecstatic to let you know my result now is 68%. My heart has recovered from chemo and herceptin.
Woohoo

What a weight off your mind. Yay!!!!! Jane xx - primekMember@sandramj . The risk was better than the alternative as far as I was concerned.
- sandramjMemberOh not good. Sometimes I think the 'cure' or treatments do not damage than good. But we have to take the risk.
- primekMember@sandramj . It just means how much blood your heart pumps out in one pump. Both chemo and herceptin treatment (for Es+ & Her2 +) can cause heart failure, which mine did.
- primekMemberLol @socoda ...awesome pic
- sandramjMemberThat's fantastic news although I don't really understand the jargon. YET? Eek. I'm hoping just to have radiation for 39 sessions then go into hormone therapy and have every test CLEAR from the 6 month mark on. Hoping it'll all be s 'need to know'. So pleased you're so happy KATH. Upward and onward now hey. Good on ya!
