- melclarityMember@hello5678 hi there, here is the latest thread on cold caps, thought it may help. There are very mixed opinions about it, I personally was advised not to do it on FEC as it's not successful, though had I done just Taxol it would have been ok.

@buster all the best for radiation, definitely no hair loss with that, its quick and painless. Radiation is cumulative however, so generally the effects are at their peak 2 weeks after. So moisturise and keep communicating with your team everyday you go.
Hugs Melinda xo - Hello5678MemberThanks @Afraser will have a look. Best of luck @buster with the radiation treatment.
- AfraserMemberHi @hello5678, there's a whole thread on cold cap treatment which may save hair, if you are interested. Can't advise myself as it wasn't an option for me 5 years ago but I am sure others can if you are interested. Look under Cold Cap- your experiences please.
- busterMemberHi @Hello5678 no I am not having chemo just radiation and then on letrozole. Good luck with the chemo. Xx
- Hello5678Member@buster can I ask what type of chemo drug you had, that you didn’t lose your hair? I’m just recovering from surgery and due to start chemo in January. I assumed everyone loses their hair with chemo. Thanks!
- busterMemberPhew I am so glad. I dodged the chemo bullet as well so I am thankful its just radiation. Thank you.
- SoldierCrabMemberHI @buster
No it doesn't fall out with Radiation normally just some chemos - MKitty68Member@buster - no, it doesn't. I had 4 x dose dense AC followed by 4 x dose dense Paclitaxel (all 2 weekly), then started radiation 12 days after my last chemo, a lot of ladies have said that their hair started to grow during radiation, but mine didn't - it has only just started now
- busterMemberDoes hair fall out with radiation? I start radiation tomorrow.
- MKitty68MemberI had my last session (of 25) radiation on Monday, my hair has only just started to grow back in the last week. I have like peach fuzz all over with a few random longer ones.
My eyebrows all fell out, but I can now see where they're starting to grow back... can't tell the colour, but it's dark anyway. I've lost nearly all of my eyelashes, but cannot as yet see new ones coming, I'm sure they will though.
Underarm hair hasn't started to grow yet, although I've never actually had much hair there to begin with.
Unfortunately leg hair has, although it's so fine only i can really see it - it's never been that bad though, so i'm not overly worried about it.
pubes have started too LOL - the man will be happy as he prefers it 'au naturale', but too bad cause i don't and i'll be getting that waxed once there's enough!
My family arrive next Wednesday, I was so hoping to have had hair again by then, but such is life I suppose!
