Hair loss
Hi there
So my hair has begun to come out with the chemo. Its quite knotty when i get up of a morning. Should i sleep with something on my head at night? Not sure what to do.

- Melc503MemberI went from this to this in just 15 days after starting chemo. I thought I would never leave the house again and it sure has taken me a few weeks. But now I am getting used to it. ( still hate it) and I admit I feel so self conscious. But am loving funky scarves and caps. I also have a wig but feel so strange when I put it on. I have not worn it in public yet.
- kezmuscMemberHi @Sarnicad,
You're using the cold cap I take it? It does add a whole other level of worry and paranoia to the situation. You are so invested in this thing working that every strand that falls you are convinced it's all going. Remember to keep shoving that cap down in the middle throughout your treatment.
I agree with K. Quick trip to the hair dresser to check things out and a tidy up might make you feel better.
As far as the radiation goes, any new part of this road is scary. Hopefully you find it a walk in the park compared to chemo.

They can use their mirrors to show you exactly what's going on. Remember it's just hair and in a few weeks time it'll be coming through more or less as normal. K xox
- SarnicadMemberI’m continuing to have a hair crisis. Have kept most of it but am convinced I’m bald on top but can’t tell and think everyone is being kind and lying to me about it
back of head is an inch long or longer so reluctant to take it off if I’m just being stupidly paranoid
part of my crisis is no doubt being brought about by an imminent return to work and conflicting feelings about that and radiation treatment- feeling like I was at the start again shocked confused and terrified - kmakmMemberNeat and tidy @Vangirl! K xox
- VangirlMemberHere's the latest pic of my turnip head. Just over 6 weeks after chemo. Gave it a going over with the clippers on number 3 to get rid of some of the extraneous fluff.
- kmakmMemberWhoo hoo!!! Regeneration! Bloody marvellous. I feel so happy for you :* :* :* :) :) :)
- SisterMemberOooh! And I just noticed that my eyelashes are coming back!
- SisterMemberLook at this eyebrow! And the other is just as good! The strange thing is that I've barely plucked them in about 20 years - the constantly plucked hair just stopped growing back. But looks and behold, some of it appears to have returned!
- FletchMemberNose hair loss is just so funny to read about to me.....for some reason....hahagahaha
