Hair loss question
Hi Girls
So I just had my second round of AC with 2 more to go, each 3 weeks apart. Then only 12 weeks of weekly treatment. My hair fell out by Day 16 as my oncologist said it would. So my question is..... is it the drug combo in the AC that causes hair loss? Does that mean my hair starts to grow back during the weekly treatments or does that combo also lead to hair loss?? This is my weekly combo drugs. Xx

Yay @Sparkles glad you are somewhat like me with the hair loss haha! I have lost most of my leg hair but not the arms. Oh I don't rock bald cos I have a flat spot on my head! It's hard wearing a wig here in Melbourne with the wind and I am always conscious my wig will slip off my head!!! We will all be champions!!! xx- Hi @au0rei - I am about to have my 4th and last docetaxel, cyclophosphamide, and 4th of 18 trastuzumab (herceptin) and like you still have some growth on my head, have kept my eyebrows & eyelashes, leg & arm hair. It is interesting how different we all are with hair loss, though like all side effects we all react differently. I reckon I rock bald, and often go coverless because it has been so hot in North Queensland.
We we all rock!! XX - I lost my hair on AC and I've just had the 5th of 12 Taxol treatments and my hair is very slowly growing back. My eyebrows and eyelashes have definitely thinned though, hopefully they won't take too long after treatment has finished to grow back. "the joys". Your Henna Tatt looks great @Igray3911!

- I had 4 x AC then Paclitacel/Carboplatin weekly. My hair started to grow back while on the weekly treatments.
- Hi, i am on my weekly with 1 last one to go next week, i did not lose any hair during this period as all was gone by 2nd AC (1 every 21 days).
The hair has started to grow back, half an inch in length and very grey..:(:(:( - hi there I had 4 doses of AC two weeks apart over 8 weeks then 4 of paclitaxel two weeks apart over 8 weeks, and started shedding after dose 2 AC then shaved it. stay bald during the paclitaxel too and hair started growing back about 4 weeks after I finished. - @au0rei Hey! Paclitaxel is Taxol and Docetaxel is Taxotere. They are similar but different. I had 4 cycles of FEC to begin which is 5-Flourouracil, Epirubicin cyclophosphamide. I completely lost every hair on my entire body. Then I had 8 Taxol, by the end of Taxol I lost completely my eyebrows and eyelashes. It was all accummulative. My Oncologist told me Taxol was the lesser of the 2 Chemos that if I only did Taxol that my hair would just thin most likely, but on FEC no chance I will lose it all. Melinda xo
