Finished chemo! Happy dance (well a slow stumbly one anyway)

Hello everyone,

Finished chemo on Thursday - the joy, the relief. Just knowing that I don't have to go back & I can actually seriously recover is just wonderful & will get me through the next couple of weeks of horrendous side effects (yep eating with a straw etc.!). I need to mentally recover as well, it truely saps your spiritual energy. But I did it with only a few days of uncontrolled sobbing.

On to radiation, thinking it should be a breeze after the last 5 months!

Thinking of you all, stay strong.

x Jane

  • It is rather a nice feeling that last every chemo dose. Onwards and upwards now.

  • Hi Kath, I did keep running but it got shorter & shorter & slower & slower but I was out there getting my vitamin D. With the 3 rounds of Docetaxal in Chemo week I only managed a slow walk to the shops and it took much longer to start to feel 'normal' again. So only really ended up with 1 good week out of 3. I'm going to be so excited when day 21 rolls round & I don't have to do chemo but just have an ordinary boring day 22, 23 ..... Keep going it does end. X Jane

  • So happy for you. Was wondering if you were able to keep up your running through your chemo. I sm half way through mine and teally struggle chemo week doing much more than a shower and a stroll at the supermarket. Hope all goes well with radiation. Stay strong. Kath x

  • Yay! Congratulations. What a relief it must be. The end of chemo is not far away for me too.

Well done on making it through.

  • Congrats! I know the feeling ??

Radiation for me was a breeze. Everyday for five weeks and I slapped on the moisturiser 3 times a day and fortunately didn't have any problems.

good luck with the next phase!
