FEC and heart palpitations

Just a question.. I had my first FEC chemo yesterday and last night and this morning I have had heart  palpitations they don't last for long maybe 2 mins and then they pass.. I have had them in the pass before cancer and never really worry about them .. (I had a heart scan before I stated and it can back clear)

any one else has this while on FEC

  • I'm on TAC and have had palpatations also. I think it's partly the steroid too. They usually stop by week 3.
  • The steroids can contribute but if becomes more frequent please go to an Emergency Dept. Otherwise just make sure you tell the chemo nurses about it and your oncologist. Kath x

Hey! I used to suffer heart palpitations, but when I had first diagnosis 2011 after radiation seemed to aggravate it more. I had it investigated but its not detrimental. I ended up having a heart ablation done, where they cauterize the nerve pathways across the heart :D it stopped them. However, I noticed in 2015 when I had FEC and Taxol, my heart was strange and it kept trying to throw into that funny rhythm, so yes very normal I think. Hugs Melinda x
  • Hi Loulou, I'm on ac chemo and I've had a few heart palpitations. Steroids can do it also as well as anxiety.
