I started out with fluttery heart after chemo...as per my above post. Then had a heaviness and sometimes cramp in the night in chest area which I thought was heartburn. For 9 weeks I have been reporting this, dry cough and leg cramp to chemo onc team. Was hospitalised for neutropenia last week at a different closer hospital, not my treating one. Turns out those were the symptoms of blood clot in lung - piece of clot broke off from calf and travelled to lung. (Deep vein thrombosis in leg and pulmomary embolism in lung.) I now have to give myself injections in tummy for next 6 months - Blood thinner Fragmen. I would advise taking notes of your side effects and being more assertive than I was re continual probs. If you have anything new ones crop up, hammer it home to either GP or chemo onc. The tests they did for the clots involved a dye...so not just the one to check your heart is beating okay! Don't want to be fear-mongering but this was a serious event and I could have been complaining for the next 9 weeks of chemo without a test being conducted and while my clot grew or moved again.
