Fatigue Sux
This is the bit that I am finding the hardest to deal with and the fact that I have only had my first cycle and that it could get worse terrifies me. I have always been such an active person and I feel like a weak kitten at the moment. I got up this morning, went for a walk, popped into work for about 15 minutes and then did the groceries. Had to come home and sit down cause I was exhausted - so frustrating. I know there are a lot of people worse off than me so I should stop whinging but just having a poor me moment.

- Kiwi_AngelMember@Sister. I just finished watching 3 seasons of Narcos which is based on the whole era round Pablo Escobar - quite enjoyed that and The Sinner with Jessica Biel in in was a good kind of thriller that keeps u guessing. I watched Stranger Things too cause I kept hearing and reading about it and quite enjoyed it.
- kmakmMember@Sister I think there's a whole category called British Drama, and Crime. Just keep scrolling down that first screen. It works off a sophisticated algorithm that is personalised to you. Find one show that you like, add it to your list, like it (the thumbs up) and Netflix will start suggesting shows based on your taste.
- SisterMemberWe got netflix and so far, only the kids have found anything to watch - I can't find anything I want to see. Where are all the good Brit crime dramas?
- kmakmMemberGood to hear :)
- Kiwi_AngelMember@onemargie @kmakm I had recently joined Netflix so that turned out to be timely! Feel great today - almost like my old self - well, for a week and a half that is. Just went and saw my oncologist and she said I’m pretty textbook in how things are going and whilst side effects may get worse this should be what I should expect. Got a script for some sleeping tablets and extra pain relief and can get stronger if needed and a letter for my health fund about a wig incase my hair doesn’t hang in there. Feel better prepared for round 2. Back to work tomorrow!! @onemargie - I can just envision the dress shopping - the silver linings of cancer and all that!! U now have another vocation if you so choose!!
- kmakmMember@onemargie OMG that is HILARIOUS!!! I love it! Mad skillz sista!
I try to pace myself so there's a burst of activity then a rest, and repeat. If I pay attention and do it properly I'm OK.
I've done a lot of Netflix and Stan shows. I don't think I've learned anything useful! - onemargieMemberHi there @"Kiwi Angel" and @kmakm. I’m hearing you ladies. I felt exactly the same although first thing in the morning was the best time for me. So I would get up do the washing get dinner ready and walk our dogs then I’d rest for the day and watch trash tv. Fuck me ive never watched that much trash tv in my life!, I think I binge watched *say yes to the dress* amongst other US trash shows.
I didn’t work through chemo as I am a nurse in a gp clinic and had my chemo in peak winter in 2016 and I would of been exhausted and exposed to too many cooties so i sucked it up and rode it out.
But one of the perks to binge watching trash tv was one time I went dress shopping with our daughter for a formal wedding she was attending and she ended up trying on a wrap dress and when she put it on she had the long straps hanging on the floor and she said to me “mum what the fuck am I supposed to do with these bloody things” and I sent don’t worry love I’ll fix it for you and proceeded to tie the straps into 108 different ways and she said “how do you know how to do that mum” and it was because I’d watched a tonne of say yes to the dress episodes lol so there you go ladies I never would of had any idea how to do that if I hadn’t watched it lol - kmakmMemberThe lamb turned out really well thank you! It was delicious.
I've noticed my heart beating faster too, especially when I'm exercising. It seems to have to work a lot harder to do the things it used to do with ease. - Kiwi_AngelMember@Finch. I notice the heart thing too and my resting heart rate has gone up by about 10 bpm.
- Kiwi_AngelMember@kmakm oh no - I hope u feel better today and get lots of rest - how did your lamb turn out the other night? @Finch it’s quite the humbling learning curve - I will never whinge about being tired again - I didn’t know what tired was until now!! On the upside I feel the best I have today - think I have finally recovered from the first cycle, even thought about doing abit of a run with my walk this morning but decided not to push it. Aches and pains are gone and I feel more energetic. No panadol osteo in the middle of the day yesterday and won’t take any this morning. The lunch and movie date hubby took me on yesterday must of been just what I needed! Everyone look after themselves - Steph xoxoxo
