facial redness after chemo

Anyone online now that knows what to do if anything, about turning red in the face and neck all of a sudden 36 hrs after chemo?

  • Thanks guy's. I'll try that. I'll have to get some antihistamines for my ever increasing drug cupboard though. It was quite devastating as we were going out for dinner and had to cancel. Luckily as I spent the next 6 hrs sweating to death. On n off with my hat.
  • Yes I did when I was on ac had red face and neck was a side effect
  • Hello.I had the redness in the face, the first few days after chemo.I remember waking up with it one morning,I asked about it and was told it was from the steroid Dexamethasone that you take for the first 2 or 3 days.I did have a rash a few days later, but it was a totally different thing. The rash was insanely itchy, and I took Zyrtec for it.I hope this helps.Cheers Robyn

  • Hi Nicole. I too have had a red rash over my face and neck after chemo. I rang the hospital and they advised me to take an ant-histamine (Phenergen) which did the trick in resolving it. Ring the hospital first though to check if it is OK.There are so many side effects from Chemo, but also a lot of medications to help alleviate them. Hope this helps. Take care. Chris xx
