Exemestane

Hi. My oncologist has recommended I take an aromatose inhibitor called Exemestane, but he didn't tell me whether to take it in the morning or at night. For the women who are on these drugs, what time of the day is best to take it?
  • I’m not on that one, I’m on Femara  and for me it makes no difference, I’ve taken it night and morning. Others who experience some side effects, particularly joint pain, have found it better to take at night. As far as I know, it’s a personal choice, based on your own experience, rather than a medical one. Good luck.
  • I've taken mine at night - started on Letrozole, then Exemestane & now on Arimidex.

I figure it should work it's magic whist we are sleeping .... I usually take it with food too.

    All the best
  • I am on Letrozole, used to take it at night but now in the morning. I changed to see if it made a difference with hot flushes but it hasn’t.
  • I used to take mine in the middle of the day but now settled into morning, during breakfast

    Personal choice
  • I take Letrozole and have tried taking it in the morning and at night. I opted for the mornings because it makes me very dry and thirsty for about eight hours. During the day I can drink and pee, but during sleep the dryness was very unpleasant. Either way has made no difference to the hot flushes. K xox
