Done - expanders surgery complete

Done it! last Friday I had my nipple areole sparring PBM with permenant expanders.

Wow I'm home now after 1 week. Painful emotional and sore.

My left boob has serious nerve pain going on and not much to do about it. It also looks very different to the right one but surgeon is confident it all looks very normal.

I had 40 ml in at time of surgery so not completely deflated what with the swelling I'd say I'm pretty large!

Gee it's sore I was using ending morphine and panda dine forte in hospital and that was fine for the first 2 days then the nerve pain began. I've never experienced anything like it, I can't breath when it happens it's like a burning excruciating pain.I have no compression bra yet as the pain is so bad I can't get it done up.

Good news is my nipples looked great at the unveiling today!  Next fill in a weeks time roll on when the pain has gone...if they were both like my right side I would be back to work now! Except the fact I just want to sleep!,,,,

  • Hey thanks things got a little worse after I eventually got home from the week long stay. I then met with surgeon and ended up exploding SEROMA fluid everywhere when he removed the dressings. I ended up with another general to put in drains and stayed another couple of nights. Just on Panadol at the moment though the endone does relieve my back ache and sore spots from the drains. Being home is mixed feelings it's just difficult not doing things. Beginning to feel a bit down about it all now. Should I have just gotten rid of nipples now they have a small amount of necrosis. Should I have gone with regular expanders and not these new ones because the injection ports are so sore. Should I have not done it at all.... Feeling deflated (pardon the pun!) nerve pain has settled a bit which is great. I just can't envision and end result at the moment, all still looks like a train wreck! Thanks for checking it's good to vent.

guess I need to give it time it's only 2 weeks just feels like forever.

  • How have the last few days been for you? I hope you are a bit more comfortable. I ground the expanders pretty uncomfortable. Keep up the pain meds and sleep as much as you need. Thinking of you Julie
