Completing my first round of chemo

I found the first AC cycle fairly easy going, but cycles 2,3 and 4 a little tougher.  My infusions were on a Monday - I would be ok for the remainder of the week but a little off.  Then I would be bedridden by Saturday and spend the next two days in bed.  Then I will pick up and by mid week, I will be feeling ‘ok’ until infusion day.  I worked mostly full time but had infusion day and the day after off.  
Taxol was way easier - I only had the half day off work for infusion but worked full time.  

Fair enough too. We all do things a bit differently depending on who we are and what matters most at the time. Main thing is to do what works for you. Best wishes. 

Sorry to hear @Belgrave14 but def agree on speaking with yyour oncologist as she/he can prob change up the meds to make it work for u!

Thoughts are with you @Belgrave14  it sucks, its horrible but you will get there.  Just remember if anything gets too much talk to your onc with changing meds around. Mine were changed after round 2 and it made a big difference.  They put me onto Phenergan along with my TC chemo amongst other things and it made a big difference.   Just keep  your eye on the prize hun.  big hugs  xox

I’m on day 6 of my third round of AC (mine is every two weeks) and God I feel rough, much worse than the first two rounds. I’m trying to stay off the anti nausea meds today as I think they might be making things worse. Thank goodness work offered me six months unpaid leave as soon as I was diagnosed as I certainly couldn’t do my job feeling like this. 

If you are not spending too much time with one end or the other suspended over the crapper, you are definitely winning. Yes, things can get all stuffed up, but a good start is a very good sign.
I had very few issues with AC. TC was a different beast. Even if you feel well, it's a good idea to keep your diet clean and simple and avoid anyone who is dripping, oozing or sneezing.  Mxx

If you feel well enough to do it you may be okay weeks 2 and 3. I had really low blood pressure and felt very ill on AC. I must say my 1st round  was only a couple  of days like this but it got harder each round. I actually had more issues with taxol but many do not. I ended not working at all until finished and a few weeks recovery. 
Casual might be an option as it gives you flexibility.

A few of us have shared notes before about working during chemo and we all seemed normally resistant to the normal germs! Usual pack drill worked - wash hands, steer clear of sneezing, sniffly persons! If it's possible, and it isn't for some, I'd agree whole heartedly about maintaining the normality. Some people want a complete change when diagnosed, others want to be as normal as possible. I found change more natural and productive 12 months after diagnosis, when I knew what I wanted and was clearer in my head about what cancer meant to me. Not big changes (still working!) but ones that mattered. Best wishes.
