I'm really sorry you are having problems with throat ulcers. I can imagine how painful that must make it for you to eat and drink. I didn't get ulcers, but my throat was sore and it was hard to swallow from the first chemo treatment. I was told to use bicarbonate and salt washes which I did to no avail. Then I was given Nilstat and I had a reaction to it. So I just kept on with the mouthwashes. After chemo and radiation, I still had a sore throat which my GP then treated with Fungilin lozenges as she said it was fungal. Still hard to swallow 6 months after treatment. At my dental apt yesterday the dentist surprised me saying I have tonsil stones. I'd never heard of them but Googling, I see they are caused by bacteria. This is long winded, but I just wanted to say that I think our throat problems need to be addressed right from the start and that mild mouth washes aren't always the solution. Ask your oncologist or GP for something stronger if the lozenges you are using are over the
counter variety. Stay strong, you will get through this.
