Chemo 3 19th day

Chemo 3 19th day, Tuesday 15th March. One doctor down today, two more to go Wed and Thursday and pending my blood tests I should be good to go to my final chemo on Friday. I still have a couple of nagging side effects, itchy hands and feet which is I hope subsiding, a bruised hand and a chemical burn now peeling and hopefully healing but the worse is this burning oesophagus which is driving me crazy. It’s like my stomach and food pipe has died or something with foul burps and a burning in my chest on and off all day. Last time it left after a couple of days but this time it’s sticking around. I will ask the GP tomorrow about it and tell him the Pantoprazole, Panadol and Rennies just aren’t cutting it.

    Your last chemo on Friday, that sounds so wonderful. I hope you get these side effects cleared up soon. Fingers crossed for you.

    Nearly there....hope everything is good to go on Friday.

    About your burning, you can take pantoprazole 40 mg up to twice a day with ranitidine 300 mg once daily. Am a gp so maybe could run it by your doc. Just an idea. Other thought was about candida in oesophagus..less likely but maybe worth asking him tomorrow. Or a Pink Lady...think it's a mix of mylanta and lignocaine to soothe inflamed oesophagus. Used to use in emergency department. The chemo docs might know about that. It's been a long time so forget the ingredients. Anyway good luck for Friday x
