Bruising after treatment has finished

Hi all,

I finished chemo about 10 weeks ago and had a double mastectomy 5 and a half weeks ago. I am still on Tramadol & neurofen.
I have noticed I keep having a lot of bruises on my outer thighs. Big ones like cricket ball size but I can never remember hurting myself and all I’m really doing is sitting around as I am still recovering.

My  husband suggested  it could be from all the drugs over the past months? Has anyone ever experienced this is should I be getting it checked?

Thanks
Tripletea

  • Hi @TripleTea it is a good idea to see the GP (as suggested) just to check if everything is ok. It can take a bit if time after chemo for your body to fully recover. Warm regards Riki
  • @SoldierCrab you don't need to tag if it's the persons post. They get the notice if own  post.
  • PS...nurofen...is like aspirin so it is a blood thinner and might explain the bruises ...btw...but still best to get things checked.
  • Definitely get it checked adap  as it's not a normal side effect post chemo  but may indicate issues with clotting which could be a side effect. See a GP, don't wait for next oncology and they will start with basic bloods. Please don't put this off as it might be something serious but can be easily treated.
