Arimidex
I have been reading through the blogs about Arimidex and found them very interesting. I have been on Arimidex for 6 months and up until 4 weeks ago, "side affects free" - until now that is.
I now have what appears to be the usual aches and pains in the legs and numbness in the hands, tiredness and headaches, so I guess I didn't escape at all I am just like all my other Arimidex sisters.
I will have to mention this to my oc next visit, but as so many others have said before at least I am here reading the experiences of others. It does help.

- Pollyanne58MemberFinita that is outrageous! It seems they are punishing you because your Mother was vigilant enough to catch the cancer early. I support what Kathleen says take it further and shake them up a bit. I will be watching to see how you go. I am parked up in my motorhome enjoying the great outdoors ( damn flies lol) but my thoughts and interest still are very much with you Ladies. Hugs and Kisses from Kim xxSign in to react to this post

- KathleenTMemberDear Finita I can't believe it! What a load of old socks!!! I'd be getting another opinion about your being denied the test, if I were you. Maybe a breast nurse, or one of your other other doctors? Maybe even an administrator from this site. I think it's definitely worth looking into. I don't think you should have been denied it, given your family history. Stick with your queries! Good luck-keep me posted! Love from Kathleen xxoSign in to react to this post
Hi Kim. Glad to hear your news and hope that you enjoy your break away.

Just need to keep an eye on it and do more tests when I get back from my holiday. That means that I can finish loading the 5th wheeler and head off after Easter for another grey nomad holiday. (Getting home for Christmas) hopefully the weather will be warmer where I am headed for the winter. Wishing all you Ladies similar good news and continued good health. It means a lot to know you all are out there and it gives comfort reading your posts and seeing that things I am experiencing are also being experienced by you and therefore is (almost) normal and not some unusual and ominous thing just for me! Love and hugs to all. Kim xxSign in to react to this post
Hi Kathleen. I hope that you're back pain has eased and that you had a great Nanny time. I also enjoy spending time with the Grand-Children. They grow up so fast. Bella, I hope that your test results are okay. It is a big decision when you are found to have the gene. I had my ovaries removed years ago and I feel privledged to have survived and I know that I am doing the right thing having a masectomy. It took me a while to come to terms with it at first but now I just want it over and done with.

I teach an Encore class now which is exercise based but also gives ladies the opportunity to really connect with others who have experienced breast cancer. There is no doubt that it changes your outlook on life - most women who have had breast cancer no longer take any crap on in their lives that they don't want in there! It's not such a bad thing!
Good luck and best wishes to everyone who is having tests and surgery - I have just been given another reprieve and I'm at 4 years post op (nearly). The cysts are a pain - they seem to panic and want to biopsy anything new and I am like you ladies; I have accepted that I will be overly anxious at checks forever!
Take care
Kim :-)
