Anyone had eye problems since having Chemo??

Very interesting scarf lady, I too have developed cataracts in both eyes post chemo. Let's be honest, they are not unusual at my age (I really hate that phrase!) and my mother developed them around the same age too, so the chemo may have nothing to do with it. So best get them fixed!! 

melcarity,  I'm glad your eye issues are a little clear now (no pun intended!) I have been on one chemo or another since 2014 (mTNBC) and last December I noticed my eye sight was very blurry. I had only had them tested in July that year , and needed a new prescription! I went back to the optometrist who checked my eyesight and agreed it was quite different. He then checked my eyes and saw that both had developed quite bad cataracts. Usually its just one then the other but mine had developed together within 6 months. It took a while to organise the operations as they had to be just prior to each chemo session, and time in between for the good eye to recover before the other was done. My eye sight is great now :) I've worn glasses for 40 yrs as I have an astigmatism where my eyes don't line up, so prisms in the glasses do the job my brain can't!! I have multifocals to cover all distances :) B

@romla Tamoxifen can impact vision yes, however I found after 6yrs that not to be the case at all. Chemo impacted mine. You can ask, they will tell you the percentage is low. Honestly, I now take Aromasin and when I took Tamoxifen I had zero effects, it was just taking a pill daily. I don't have to be on it, my Oncologist said it just gives an extra couple of percent guard against recurrence. So I guess you have to weigh it up. I think when I look back at my past 6yrs of surgeries and treatments, an Aromatase inhibitor was definitely the least worry. Hugs x Melinda

Hi ladies - been reading tamoxifen impacts on vision. I have glaucoma was wondering if Aromatase inhibitors impact on this.Seeing my eye specialist next week 6 monthly check and will raise with him and also medical onc who I also see next week

I was feeling better LOL, but now am back on it until I see him which is crap, and Im concerned of switching to something else with more side effects. Strangely, I had massive sleepless nights off it. I did not miss however, the joint pain, walking like an old lady every time I sat down! Sore hip, lower back and constant memory loss, sore wrists....and the icing on the cake?? I put down this to CHEMO...memory recall where I know what I want to say but cannot get it from my brain out my mouth..like a delay!! its so noticeable people think Ive lost my mind.. Ummm I have...chemo took it uuugh! so I do lots of mental things to help...but there seems to be more and more issues arising from side effects and chemo/meds than the BC ever did...grrrr!

Glad youre feeling better and i hope they find a good replacement for you. 
Im only 7 weeks in on Arimadex (been on Zoladex for 5 months) but already suffering out of breath when not doing anything particularly strenuous, sore eyes, sore hip and pelvis, sore lower back, memory loss, tired, tingling feet and hands, sore wrists, cant get to sleep then awake at 2am for ages.
Just amazing how generally crappy I feel.

Thanks Kerry, yes Ive been on Arimidex since January 2016 and Ive just had a 6 week break and feel so much better!! but have to go back on it until I see him in May. That means he will switch me to something else, but I have no clue what?? as I had a recurrence on Tamoxifen so he threw that in the bin. x
