Anastrozole (Arimidex)

Hi ladies , can anyone tell me how they got on taking Anastrozole (Arimidex), with side effects. I went through an early menopause at 38 with absolutely no symptoms at all. Not looking forward to possibly having hot flushes but am worried about some of the other potential side effects both short & long term.

Hi Paula, I've been on Arimidex since last September, and the only difference that I have noticed is joint stiffness in my hands and feet. If I keep moving it feels better. I take glucosamine and a chewable calcium/ vitamin D supplement to support my well being.

Best of luck to you, sending you a big cuddle ????????

  • Thanks Rowdy, I know that you're supposed to stay positive but with everything Iv got on my plate atm its bloody hard. And BC can just stop giving LOL
  • Know just how you are feeling,Paula

    I will be on femara soon  . . . .

Let's just hope we are some of the lucky ones without many side effects  . .. .  . .

As Rowdy says, you just never know  . ..

    Heres to us, girlfriend ??

    Tansy ??

  • Hi I have been on Arimidex since November last year. I was on Tamoxafan for a while and my oncologist suggested I try it as my mood wasn't great on Tamoxafan. I still have hot flushes and I have bone joint pain for this I take panadol osteo  and glucosimine. The issue is we all have different side effects. My mood is much better and I'm not as emotional as I was on Tamoxafan but others have posted having worse side effects than I'm having. To be honest it can be pot luck how our bodies react. I also take vitamin d and caltrate as you have a chance of getting osteporosis. Ask questions so you are well informed.

I thought after getting trough active treatment it would be easier but bc keeps giving, good luck
