I use it @Cathyw I take 300 mg of Gabapentin at night and, in addition to having a mild sedative effect, it shuts down the fire ants in my armpit and helps with the relentless tingling in my hands. And tones down the hot flushes.
It's not a great drug in many ways--if you believe Dr Google-- but the therapeutic dose for epilepsy is some monstrous amount so I'm willing to compromise and take a very modest capsule because I think I'd go spare if I had to put up with the AI side effects and surgical damage day and night. I'm taking Exemestane too- having not coped at all with Letrazole and Anastrazole.
Oddly, I had no problems with Tamoxifen when I was taking it 14 years ago, but my cancer did come back so maybe the contained misery of the AIs is worth it. I hope so. Hang in there and give things a try. Sometimes even a few months relief can have such a huge impact on our lives; it's worth taking a drug that you'd rather not for a little while, and as I said previously, the doses you will be given are tiny.
