A V.I.P outing!

Day 6- after round four

Well got myself an itchy rash and low grade fever overnight.... Being Awake every half hour makes for a really long night.... Thinking it may be an allergy to meds went to emergency just to be sure....

Flashed my V.I.P card and straight to the isolation room I went.... Nurses and doctors attended straight away.... Bloods, X-ray, questions.....all that was missing was a nice cocktail and the paparazzi!

After a conference consult with all of my specialists... They wanted more blood... Not from the cannula, from a new site.... My veins have had enough & the nurses face when I said have fun trying to find a vein...made my mind up.... NO MORE BLOOD!

The onc registrar after further consult was pretty confident the rash was just from sweating .... This was either caused by the tramadol or the chemo.... I am sweating like I've run a marathon! So after more questions about my bone pain, the painkillers were changed to endone... And topical ointment for the rash...

My release papers were given with strict instruction to watch that fever (which we do numerous times a day) and if the rash spread further, to go straight back....

Why does such drama happen in a public holiday or in the middle of the night??
I'm home now, buggered and sore.... So I'll take my new medication as see if I can get some sleep.... That's one V.I.P event I don't want to attend again anytime soon ??

Tomorrow is another (hopefully better) day!

  • Hi I was only saying to my husband in 2014  Anzac day I had to go to emergency and they wouldn't let me out. This is the only time I have gotten in to emergency so fast, it was like being a vip. Lucky you, they didn't let me out and I ended up in hospital for 3 nights having intravenous antibiotics every hour. The worst part was I had tickets for a show because of being admitted to hospital I missed out.

Good to see you made it home take care things can change quicklyxx
